What is Paint It Forward?

Paint It Forward is an art company that transforms creativity into meaningful impact. We create and sell original artwork that inspires, connects, and brings beauty into everyday spaces.

We believe art should do more than hang on a wall - it should make a difference. We donate 25% of every sale to charities that support children, helping fund care, opportunity, and hope for young lives.

Founder's Story

Hi, I’m Cooper Ruigrok, and I’m 11 years old. My journey began when I was six years old, when I held my first art fundraiser for the Alberta Children's Hospital and raised more than $2,000 by selling my artwork. That was the moment I realized I could make a difference.

After that, I kept creating art in my garage, loading it into my wagon, and selling it around my neighborhood. It was a simple idea, but it showed me how something I love—art—could help others.

Later, I traveled to Africa with my family, where we visited a school and an orphanage. That experience changed my perspective and inspired me to think bigger and make an even greater impact.

That’s why I created Paint It Forward and launched this website: to reach more people, share my art, and raise even more money to help kids who need it most.

  • My Very First Project

After seeing a TV ad about the need for support at the Calgary Children’s Hospital, I decided to create and sell my own artwork to raise money. With my mom’s help promoting it on social media, I sold and delivered pieces, ultimately donating about $2,000 in cash to the hospital just before the holidays.

  • School Bags to Tanzania

My grandma challenged me to raise money for school supplies for students in Tanzania, so I created and sold artwork on the streets, earning over $350. I used the funds to negotiate discounted backpacks and supplies from Staples, which she delivered to the students—later, I had the chance to visit the school and meet some of the kids myself.

  • My Art Studio

This is my art studio—my parents’ garage. We don’t park cars here, just create art; it’s where the magic happens. Sometimes I open the door and neighbors join in to paint, and other times I pack up my wagon and head out to the streets to sell my work.
